Recent News

Bing AI

https://github.com/luolongfei/freenom/releases/tag/v0.6.1

我曾经的域名 cuffs.cf 被收回,对外提供服务的 alist.cuffs.cf 网盘程序无法访问。
并将 cuffs.cf 重定向到 dijk.eu.org.
现在,我使用 https://vpic.eu.org 来替代 alist.cuffs.cf,

eu.org 域名恢复访问
wgxls.site -> 汪广鑫老师的网站

After three years in the so-called “research circle”, I found that the academic big shots (B-Wang) all have their own homepages, e.g.:
- …
And these personal homepages all share a common section: Recent News

So I decided to maintain a Recent News section of my own.
The domain may change
I’ve been using the https://cuffs.cf domain for 3 years. The .cf domain was applied for free on the freenom website, which requires a renewal click every year. That doesn’t seem too troublesome, but when you have several free domains, renewals become a hassle.
I had been using luolongfei/freenom for automatic renewal, but last time the renewal failed. The reason:

In the site-building community you often hear “the free stuff is the most expensive”. I once heard that freenom reclaims your domain when it detects increased traffic to your site, just to annoy you. That probably won’t happen to my site though 😅. But then the company got sued by Meta — apparently many illegal websites used its domains — and as a result .ga domains went down entirely. I had two of those too, and both went down. What a shame.

Although cuffs.cf hasn’t been reclaimed yet, I can’t guarantee I’ll remember its expiry date — it could expire at any time. And given that .ga domains collapsed entirely, there’s no guarantee .cf won’t collapse too.
So the need to switch to a brand new free domain became urgent. After much research, I found https://nic.eu.org/

They’ve been offering free domains since the year before I was born — that’s a solid 19 years of stable service by now 🤫.
The free domains offered by this site are second-level domains, but when hosted on Cloudflare they’re treated as top-level domains. The domains here are said to be permanently free, no renewal clicks needed — perfect for me.
The fixed part of the domain is already long enough, so I wanted the prefix as short as possible. When applying, I thought of Dijkstra, so I went with dijk as the prefix — this domain also serves as a tribute to my days of fighting for the postgraduate entrance exam, haha.
Therefore, this site’s permanent domain will be changed to https://dijk.eu.org
But domains from here and the free ones from freenom share a common flaw: tons of illegal websites use such domains, making it very likely the domestic network will ban them wholesale, pushing my site out of the Great Firewall. As far as I know, China Mobile’s network can’t access eu.org sites. Damn China Mobile!!! Considering my site doesn’t have great content and I don’t expect it to make money, whether it gets blocked or not is whatever.
Serving the community
FakeGPT service
ChatGPT is strangling China — it’s not open to Chinese users, and it blocks IPs from many well-known cloud providers. I set up a proxy via Oracle Cloud and got blocked immediately.

Even if you find a proxy that isn’t blocked, you still have to repeatedly pass Cloudflare’s bot verification. So annoying.
A while ago I built a chatgpt service using openai’s free credits, serving whoever was lucky enough to find it. But now the credits have expired, and I don’t have the means to keep maintaining it.
Recently I found a new project, pengzhile/pandora, which almost fully replicates the official ChatGPT.
No VPN needed! No verification!
But you still need a chatgpt account.
Lucky folks can use it via the links below:
- https://gpt.dijk.eu.org (might be blocked)
- https://gpt.cuffs.cf (might be dead)
Bing AI service
New Bing offers similar services to ChatGPT, but unfortunately it’s still not friendly to users behind the firewall.
I heard a while ago that New Bing opened to all users, no waitlist needed. But users behind the firewall still need some tricks or tools to use New Bing.
To get rid of these restrictions, I built a New Bing service based on adams549659584/go-proxy-bingai.
Lucky folks can use it via the links below:
- https://bing.dijk.eu.org (might be blocked)
- https://bing.cuffs.cf (might be dead)
GitHub accelerated downloads
GitHub has always been in a superposition of blocked and not blocked. Some newcomers who want to download code run experiments, write weekly reports have no idea where to start.
So I used Nginx to reverse-proxy GitHub. The specific process references this guy
Lucky folks can use it via the link below:

If you know the exact download URL of a file, you can use the service below. The download speed depends on your network and my server’s bandwidth.

Static resource migration
Currently all static resources like images and videos on the site come from the list.cuffs.cf domain. With the domain change, all static resources will gradually migrate to the oss.dijk.eu.org domain.
Considering dijk.eu.org might get blocked, there may be mirror sites that aren’t blocked, but those won’t last forever either.
Also, updated the dead links in the blog sidebar.
The real Recent News
2023-07-11 I signed a 10-year deal with 1881997.xyz
I felt free domains were unreliable, and I had 10 USD in Paypal earned from idle farming, so I decided to buy a domain.
The cheapest domain is the 6-digit xyz domain at $1/year on namesilo. I thought for a long time about meaningful numbers, but they were all taken, so I ended up using the last 7 digits of my QQ number: 1881997.xyz. And in a moment of impulse, I bought it for 10 years, spending all my savings.

When I calmed down, I realized xyz domains are notorious for being used by black-market businesses, my pure number domain isn’t easy to remember, its length is no advantage either, and the subdomain blog.1881997.xyz looks weird — not like a legitimate site 😓. So the main domain remains dijk.eu.org.

2024-02-19 freenom reclaims free top-level domains
https://github.com/luolongfei/freenom/releases/tag/v0.6.1
The latest release of the freenom auto-renewal project mentions freenom is cleaning up domains.

This affected me a bit.
My old domain cuffs.cf was reclaimed, and the alist.cuffs.cf netdisk service I was running became inaccessible.
I had registered a corporate email with cuffs.cf and used wgx@cuffs.cf to sign up for some accounts — I can’t even remember which ones.
Now that mailbox will never receive emails again.
Luckily, half a year ago I already switched the blog domain to dijk.eu.org, the “truly” permanent free domain, and redirected cuffs.cf to dijk.eu.org.
Now I use https://vpic.eu.org to replace alist.cuffs.cf.
Lucky folks can access the resources I share.
2024-02-29 Pandora next discontinued
https://linux.do/t/topic/1051
Pandora next is discontinued; my self-deployed chatgpt proxy service is dead.
The pandora next project let people use chatgpt without a VPN.
I deployed the pandora project at gpt.dijk.eu.org, but as pandora next came to an end, my project could no longer provide service.

To let everyone use quality AI services without a VPN, I deployed a web proxy tool.
Lucky folks can register coze.com through this tool and use the free GPT4 service.
2024-03-30 eu.org domains blocked via TLS
https://github.com/233boy/v2ray/issues/1294
eu.org domains blocked via TLS

This issue comes from a proxy project — because eu.org can’t do https connections, many proxy nodes became unusable.
I know I’m a law-abiding citizen, and I’ve always used my VPN strictly for learning purposes! So I’ve been using plain http proxies for years. I also don’t hang around the proxy community much, so I wasn’t quick to notice this.
I noticed eu.org being unreachable around March 27 — I couldn’t connect to my blog at all, but turning on the proxy fixed it.
At first I thought my site had some violating content. I’ve only written a few tech articles, why would they block me?
After two or three days of investigation, I found eu.org was being blocked at the TLS level, meaning https access was impossible. This actually happened once before, two or three years ago when I first applied for the eu.org domain — that’s exactly why I switched to cuffs.cf back then. Now cuffs.cf is dead and eu.org is blocked; who knows when it’ll recover.
Further investigation revealed that the GFW isn’t blocking all https access to eu.org — only eu.org domains hosted on foreign IPs.
My site hosted in China still works over https, e.g. https://opengrok.wgxls.eu.org:86/
So this weekend I worked on solutions after the blocking — a mirror site, of course.
The site hosted on vercel changed to https://1881997.xyz.
Also hosted a copy on Cloudflare pages: https://wgx.pages.dev.
TODO: I plan to host a copy inside China too, but since ports 80/443 aren’t available, it would have to be on non-standard ports. Tentatively https://blog.wgxls.eu.org:86
Since dijk.eu.org only lost https access, to keep the domain from going completely cold domestically, I pointed it to my server and temporarily 301-redirected it to https://wgx.pages.dev.
These days freeloading is getting harder. I realized the most stable domain is GitHub Pages’ default github.io, so I decided to follow the academic big shots and create a personal homepage on GitHub Pages, publishing my blog address there.
Homepage: https://wang-guangxin.github.io
2024-05-05 eu.org domains restored
eu.org domains restored
The eu.org restrictions a while ago cost me money (RMB 175 for 10 years, doesn’t feel like a loss 😏) to buy this new domain, wgxls.site.
Why wgxls.site? Because at my current company, colleagues like to call each other teacher, so I used the initials of my name — wgxls (Teacher Wang Guangxin) — as the domain prefix.
wgxls.site -> Teacher Wang Guangxin’s website
Barring any surprises, this domain will be used forever.
By “surprises” I mean the domain getting blocked. 🤣
2024-06-23 Docker images gone
Recently it’s impossible to pull Docker images domestically, and many Docker Hub mirror sites have shut down one after another.
Sigh 🙃, nowadays nothing surprises me anymore.
Remedies for lucky folks:

| gcr.io | gcr.dijk.eu.org | Google Container Registry |

2024-07-18 Oracle Cloud account banned
At noon I checked my website and found all images were broken.
Must be the Oracle server crashing, so I went to check the server probe — that was inaccessible too.
Came home, logged in, and damn, my account was banned.
